Last weeks pre-order numbers are in from over at VG Chartz and we are seeing some encouraging numbers. Skyward Sword picked up 68,675 pre-orders, bringing it to a total of 521,500. With Battlefield 3 having been released last week, it was pretty obvious Skyward Sword was going to automatically climb from #7 to #5 in the pre-order charts. What may have not been obvious is the steady increase in week to week orders. Skyward Sword notched 68,675 preorder last week - the best week it has had since becoming available. That number outpaced every game last week outside of Uncharted, Skyrim, and Modern Warfare 3. That includes The Old Republic, which is one spot ahead of Skyward Sword overall. With the 3 main competitors all releasing before Skyward Sword, it has the potential to become the #1 game on the list in the coming weeks. It could surpass the 700,000 mark. If preorders ever rise to the triple digits they could even go higher. Skyward Sword is fairing well with presales. One can only hope this spills over into week one sales not related to preorders....

Last week we finally found out when Beyond the Labyrinth for the Nintendo 3DS will be coming out in Japan (January 19, 2012, in case you've forgotten). Konami has since unveiled that the two different collector's editions of the game are also going to be available. As we have posted earlier, there have been rumors about the Skyward Sword ending and story in general, leaked on our favorite board, 4Chan. Obviousl there was no credibility to them... until recently. The same user that was answering questions also released a 4 minute video showing off the game, right from the very launch. It is however notable that the demo had the same home screen menu, and no late-game footage has been shown yet (i.e. the video might just be showing the demo, and the guy didn't play the whole game), so keep your pants on. Everybody just seems to love the Zelda commercials with Robin Williams and his daughter, Zelda. I'm guilty of liking them myself, so of course I was happy to see yet another commercial with this comical pair. Nintendo Greece has just released this new Skyward Sword commercial that shows off the limited edition controller. I don't think anybody can resist these two. Watching them compete is funny. There are subtitles, but I don't think many of us will have difficulty understanding them... Sorry guys, but no more epic beard. I don't think I have to say much more. Go Nintendo just posted this commercial. The only drawback is that it has subtitles. But the good thing for our English speaking fans is the audio is in English!
