The latest issue of Nintendo Power has some new information pertaining to Mario Kart 7 for the Nintendo 3DS. In addition to the already announced mystery characters (Metal Mario and Lakitu), the two remaining characters have now been revealed. The two new characters are certainly not what I expected. They're pretty obscure, but they'll be instantly recognizable for those of you who have played your share of Mario games. To find out who the new characters are, jump inside. ...

UK Faron Woods and Skyview Temple Trailers with Commentary
Posted On 30 Oct 2011 By admin
There is really nothing new in these trailers, other than the fact there is a sexy UK voice doing a tad bit of commentary. Still, we have taken every other angle at glancing at later stages in Skyward Sword, so it may be time we go back and view areas we have known about for some time. These are two of the areas we experience in the beginning of the game. I could talk about it a bunch, but at this point it's best if you just check out the videos after the jump, as well as our Skyward Sword Walkthrough for more information on these areas....

Old Skyward Sword Artwork Features New Content: The Gorgeous Zelda
Posted On 30 Oct 2011 By admin
Is it notable and acceptable to update an artwork? Probably, if it's related to The Legend of Zelda and Skyward Sword, anyway. Many of you would remember Game Informer's epic Skyward Sword cover, featuring Link looking like an absolute badass like he is, Fi being all mystical like she is, and Ghirahim being a weird, fabulous creep... like he is. The titular Zelda was also present in this artwork, in her young, smiling, lively state - but, for one reason or another, the artwork we once knew has been modified to feature a more serene, solemn Zelda, in her white dress and with the lyre in her hands... we haven't see this depiction of Zelda as of yet, so there's no questioning that it's definitely new art material. Keep in mind that, however, our source on this artwork are the NeoGAF forums - nothing official - and as such, we're not entirely sure if it's the real deal or not. After all, why change an old artwork? Could it be fake? Does it really matter if it is? None of these questions and more will be tackled inside, altogether with a full version of the artwork....

DLC is Great in Concept, But in Practice There Are Some Problems
Posted On 30 Oct 2011 By admin
Now that we know the 3DS will be supporting DLC capabilities heading into 2012, I wanted to take a moment and address why Nintendo has been reluctant to this point to support such notions. In fact, I don't see Nintendo themselves using DLC in their own games any time in the near future. They have great reasoning, and it's something that we are slowly starting to drift away from to make additional money in the industry. Downloadable Content in that of itself is not an evil concept. It's a way to provide content to a game you have already released during a period of time when you may not have another game of that type coming out for awhile. I find nothing wrong with adding new optional content over time. Especially if the experience in the box is generally agreed to be worth your money investment out the gate. Here in lies, however, the key problem with how DLC is handled. We just got Battlefield 3's first DLC announcement with a release date of this December. Guess how long Battlefield 3 has been out. Give up? Try 4 days. So after just dropping 60$ on a brand new game that...

Rumor: Skyward Sword End Story Revealed, A Great Sacrifice, Triforce, and More
Posted On 29 Oct 2011 By admin
As we inch closer to Skyward Sword's release there are bound to be information that gets out that isn't supposed to happen. That being said, this entire post is to be taken with a massive grain of salt. These rumors originate from 4Chan, from a supposed media member in Europe (the time frame sets up for them to have gotten their press copies this past week, where as the US gets them this upcoming week). They could naturally be true, and the main plot of Skyward Sword has been revealed. That, or they are just another attempt at grabbing attention. Just be warned: What you read after the jump will potentially spoil key plot points in the game....

Does the Split Zelda Timeline Exist
Posted On 29 Oct 2011 By admin
Producers of the Legend of Zelda series have long maintained that there is some kind of order to the chaos that is the Zelda Timeline. Somewhere at Nintendo’s headquarters there is a supposed document with an official chronological order for the Zelda games. However, despite the existence of this document officials at Nintendo often make [...]No Comments
