Skyward Sword: Surprises Saved, Insider Tip Tells Us Ending Rumors are Fake, All Fake
Posted On 06 Nov 2011 By admin
About a week ago we dug up some rumors on 4chan that claimed to reveal the ending of Skyward Sword, including a monumental sacrifice, some pretty crazy ideas about the Triforce, and a few other outlandish things like Zora's Domain being frozen (again). Well, we've received a tip from a known and trusted insider source that these rumors are altogether fake. Made-up. Fabricated. This isn't an anonymous tipster; this is the real deal. We don't have much more to say besides that, although now of course you can all rest a little easier knowing that the big surprises in store for Skyward Sword's story are still safe. I've got to say, I'm a little relieved. While I didn't find the rumors omg unbelievable, I... well, I didn't really like them....

Posted On 06 Nov 2011 By admin
Oh my, what a day! Earlier I made a blasphemous statement that today will be a slow news day. It just however happened that it's the biggest Skyward Sword information blowout we've seen in recent memory [Editor note: Damir's memory sucks]. We now have most of the boss names, brand new upgrade information, new info about races, characters... New information regarding pretty much every spectrum of the game that we know of so far. Jump inside for some new screenshots and a brief summary of some of the new stuff you can find inside our Skyward Sword Walkthrough, which Alex is presently slaving over. It goes without saying that this post is just oozing with spoilers, right? Right....

Destructoid Teaser: Talking to Women About Skyward Sword, Ghirahim in Gay, Should be Rated M?
Posted On 06 Nov 2011 By admin
Destructoid is one of my favorite places on the internet to find comical takes on the games we all love, and in what may be considered by some an "insulting" representation of women and video games with their newish video series "Talking to Women About Video Games", I can't deny that my laughter almost never stops. Jonathan Holmes is just rubs me in all the right ways, and his obvious sarcasm in this video teaser (we'll be sure to get you guys the full episode when released) just makes for good YouTube TV. Hop inside to see a short teaser clip that talks specifically about Ghirahim being Gay. The Rated M part? That comes from Detructroid themselves, so I am sure that will be a point brought up in the full episode later this week....

How Ura Zelda Became Majora’s Mask
Posted On 06 Nov 2011 By admin
Our friends over at GlitterBerri have recently put together an article discussing how Ura Zelda became Majora’s Mask. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the term, Ura Zelda was a game being designed for the Nintendo 64 Disk Drive expansion disk of the Nintendo 64. Put simply, it was a second quest of [...]

Ura Zelda: The Untold Origins of Majora’s Mask
Posted On 06 Nov 2011 By admin
About thirteen years ago, right before the release of Ocarina of Time we heard rumors of a side-project that would expand on the ground-breaking new gameplay laid down in that most legendary of Zelda titles... That side-project was Ura Zelda. Originally envisioned as a "Master Quest" of sorts for Ocarina of Time - and inevitably the basis for the real Master Quest - Ura Zelda ultimately never saw the light of day in its originally-planned form. Instead, we got Majora's Mask, one of the greatest sequels in the history of the series. But how did this shift in development come about? Thankfully, Zelda Informer's official translator and affiliate, GlitterBerri, has dug up some interview info related to the two projects to shed some light on the issue. Jump inside for her findings....

Massive Skyward Sword Walkthrough Update, Can’t Get Any More Complete Than This Until Release
Posted On 06 Nov 2011 By admin
Now that I'm back in full swing, I've been making tons of updates to our Skyward Sword Walkthrough pages to bring them more up-to-date. In specific, I've focused on finding better images and more accurate information including official names, locations, and so on for basically every character, enemy, item, and upgrade we've encountered in official footage and screenshots so far. As of today's update, I'm confident enough to say that you definitely won't find a more complete Skyward Sword guide on the web - and we still haven't even gotten to the actual core walkthrough yet! On the agenda for later tonight - better integration for the Skyward Sword Game Controls content. Instead of having to check the instructions page to find out how to control your Bombs, for instance, you'll be able to head straight to the Bombs' entry in the Skyward Sword Items & Gear Guide to see all the different ways you can use them. Of course, that's still to come. For now, see if you can find all the updates!...

Go Vacation Footage
Posted On 06 Nov 2011 By admin
Hi guys, bit of a slow morning here. New footage from the game Go Vacation for the Nintendo Wii are out, and this looks like a ripoff scam of Mario Kart Wii. The minigame in particular is Moto Fest, and it's a race stage! (duh!) And in all honesty what kind of track is that? It looks confusing and not even like those Mario Kart tracks. I do not really like what I see, and in all honesty I do not care. The game looks lackluster. I think that the only REAL title of concern for me right now is The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, at this point. The video can be found after the jump....

Michael Pachter Explains Why Nintendo Wont Release Xenoblade in the US
Posted On 06 Nov 2011 By admin
Get More: GameTrailers.com, Pach-Attack! - Kevin Butler & Xenoblade Falter, PC Games, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 What I like most out of what he said is the clarifying of who really controls these localization decisions. It's not Nintendo of America, and no, Reggie does not make any decisions on what games come to the states. He simply handles production, localization, and marketing of Nintendo products. He goes to Japan once a month to discuss with Nintendo of Japan what business model, plans, and games he think are going to really do well in his market. In all likelihood, he has probably already mentioned these games. Nintendo themselves have already responded directly to Operation Rainfall, so it's not like Nintendo doesn't know what is going on This ultimately makes several demand pushes a bit skewed, because we are targeting the wrong people. It doesn't matter how many times we flood NoA's email inbox, or how many twitter spamming and FB raping messages we encourage. Ultimately, Nintendo of America simply cannot do anything about it. It is outside of their control. Unfortunately, most people in the states don't speak Japanese fluently enough to take the fight to the territory it really belongs...
