14 New Skyward Sword Screenshots from ONM’s Recent Media Dump
Posted On 07 Nov 2011 By admin
I seriously just can't get enough of the screenshots dumps. It doesn't matter to me that we have to sift through them all to pull out only the new ones (ONM has 180 pieces or so, most of which are ones we posted before), What matters to me is we get these dumps at all. Seriously, I just love the art direction. I would argue it is the best Zelda has ever looked, but until I see it in person I can never be completely sold, no matter how amazing the videos and screenshots look. After all, the point of graphics, in my opinion, is to present and convey the intended atmosphere of the game. Until I get to experience the game, I cannot fairly judge if the style does it well enough. Okay enough rambling.... jump inside!...

Skyward Sword: New Official "About" Videos Show Flight, Save System, Dowsing
Posted On 07 Nov 2011 By admin
The Skyward Sword info mill is in high gear. We're getting videos out the wazoo from all sides - media previews, new trailers, and now even official Nintendo "about" video tutorials of new gameplay features. Today we've got three of them, straight from the Skyward Sword Official Site. I really enjoy this first one, which shows off the game's flight mechanics, because you get a crisp, clear look at listen to the music you'll be hearing while soaring across the skies. Also, in case you guys haven't noticed, I've been working pretty much non-stop to keep our Skyward Sword Walkthrough as up-to-date as humanly possible. We've now got tons of goodies we weren't expecting, from some preliminary Heart Piece and Goddess Cube locations in our Skyward Sword Heart Piece Guide and Skyward Sword Goddess Cube Guide to a full list of every Material and Bug in the Collection for our Skyward Sword Item Upgrades Guide. Of course, that's just a taste of the information you'll find there - you'll also find detailed enemy and boss info, character descriptions, and more. We've also got the English versions of the Save System and Dowsing tutorials after the jump....

Those Four Notes
Posted On 07 Nov 2011 By admin
If you've ever played a Zelda game before, you know exactly which notes I'm talking about. Those four, triumphant tones that signal to you that you've discovered something useful, something amazing, something awesome. The wonder on Link's face, the swelling feeling of mystery (as conveyed by that other famous Zelda melody) - it's all orchestrated by Nintendo's sound department and in particular, Koji Kondo. There are a lot of reasons to love Zelda, from the series' dedication to trying new things, to the razor-sharp gameplay, to the epic feeling of being swallowed up by a sublime landscape, making your way from one end of Hyrule (by horse, by boat, by Loftbird) to the other, Zelda is a series of magical moments. And the one element that ties every single entry in the series together is the uniformly amazing music....
