Did Someone Get Some Dragon Quest in Your Final Fantasy?
Posted On 16 Nov 2011 By admin
I love me some Dragon Quest. Dragon Quest IX is probably my favourite DS game of all time and one of my top 5 JRPGs, right there alongside... Final Fantasy VI. Now, for the Nintendo faithful (or, you know, people who never bought a PS2), you might not be aware that Final Fantasy has been in a bit of a tailspin since, oh, anything released after Squaresoft became a part of the Square Enix behemoth. So when Eurogamer reports that Yuji Horii, the famed director and series creator of the Dragon Quest series has been "swapping notes" with the FFXIII-2 team, I couldn't help but get a little bit excited. A Final Fantasy game that drops some of the pretension of the last few entries and returns to a more player-centric gaming-style? Yes please and thank you? Well, hold your horses....

GameSpot gives Skyward Sword a 7.5 out of 10
Posted On 16 Nov 2011 By admin
With all the perfect reviews floating around as of lately you might think it blasphemous to hear that Skyward Sword has recieved a 7.5 out of 10 from Gamespot. Remember that reviews are based solely on the critic’s opinions so that shouldn’t affect your own experience with the game. In the video review which can [...]

IGN’s Nintendo Voice Chat: The 2nd Special Zelda Podcast
Posted On 16 Nov 2011 By admin
What's that? You're wondering when there was even an original Special Zelda Podcast by IGN? Yeah, I couldn't exactly remember either, but it turns out it was at some point after experiencing a nine-hour demo of Skyward Sword... back in late September. But that was ages ago! Now, the game's been reviewed, everyone participating in the podcast has already played a decent chunk of it, and there are viewpoints to get across. Jumping on the bandwagon for this podcast just so happens to be 1Up editor Jose Otero, who had dealt the less favourable score of a B+ (83/100). IGN favourites Audrey Drake and Richard George (who reviewed the game for IGN) are also present, as well as some guy named Sam, who is working on the Skyward Sword wiki for IGN. Anyway, the exciting thing about this podcast is that you don't have to worry at all about (many) spoilers. You can have a lovely little listen on your iPod in the sunshine, without any worry of losing (much of) your Skyward Sword virginity. Twenty-five megs, not bad given today's economy! Download it here. ...

Famitsu Reviews Skyward Sword
Posted On 16 Nov 2011 By admin
I'm not really one of those people who pays too much attention to game reviews. Sometimes the reviewers are spot on, some times they aren't. Everyone's different when it comes to their personal preferences in gaming. Being a Zelda fan is no exception, of course. We've all got a different idea in our heads of what Zelda is, or should be. Some of us love Ocarina of Time and some of us think Majora's Mask is the best title in the series. Others swear by A Link to the Past. We've also got to remember that different sites and publications score things differently. Some places are bias toward certain consoles, others have a higher set of standards. Some places will take money in exchange for a higher review. I suppose what I'm trying to say is that you and you alone can decide how good or bad a game is. That being said, I'm sure you probably want me to shut up and tell you all how Famitsu scored Skyward Sword... Jump inside and your question shall be answered. ...
