Spoiler: Let’s Talk About the "S" Word
Posted On 26 Nov 2011 By admin
The journey leading up to Skyward Sword was truly an epic one - we had speculations, we had misleading rumors, we had trailers, leaks, articles, images, videos, all the good stuff. However, what most people o not realize is that Zelda Informer is being managed fully by only a handful of people. We barely have four consistently active senior staff members, who spend most of their time working on either the back end (Updating the featured bar, layout etc.), or doing exclusive site material (videos, articles, walkthroughs). Our day-to-day posts are handled by the rest of our staff, and while all of them are amazing, they aren't around as much as the senior guys. What this amounts to is a rather hectic time when any sort of breaking news arrive, and where there's a hectic atmosphere, there are mistakes. I'm of course talking about SPOILERS, or to be more precise, the lack of spoiler warnings....

Playstation 4 to Launch on the Heels of the Wii U?
Posted On 26 Nov 2011 By admin
Even before Nintendo announced the Wii U at E3 this year, speculation had already begun over when the next generation of video game consoles would begin. Now that we know that the Wii U is coming, everyone has been asking when Sony and Microsoft will follow suit. This week there have been rumblings concerning the Playstation 4 and XBox 720. Yes, there has been talk in the past concerning the eventual consoles, but previous comments were just in response to persistent questions and offered little specifics. Comments made this week concerning Sony and Microsoft, while still vague, do help narrow down when the Wii U should meet its rivals. ...

Skyward Sword: First Impressions
Posted On 26 Nov 2011 By admin
So now that I’ve started Skyward Sword, it’s time to give you guys my first impressions! This video is my initial thoughts on the game, recorded when I was only to the second dungeon of the game. This is not a full review or anything like that, just running over my thoughts. I do include [...]

Four More Awful Skyward Sword Commercials
Posted On 26 Nov 2011 By admin
So the Japanese advertising campaign for Skyward Sword seems to be, toss attractive Japanese women into a chair and have them solve Zelda puzzles and battle Zelda enemies. I’m not sure this is a winning strategy, but this seems to be their approach. This time around we have four brand new commercials for the Legend [...]

A World Without The Legend of Zelda
Posted On 26 Nov 2011 By admin
A very interesting article has been put in front of us right now, and it does pose, and try to answer a few "what if" questions. I am not entirely sure if it's THAT accurate tough. There are several reasons for that, the most prominent of which is that the author wrongfully assumes that Zelda was the only innovative franchise in gaming. More on that later on though. Having read the article, I started to do some thinking of my own (Ed. For a change). However, I phrased my questions a bit differently, in a more effective matter I believe. "What if" is always a very dangerous path to wander down when getting lost in thought though, so don't be surprised if, like me, you also feel a cold shiver run down your spine. Imagine, if you will, waking this weekend to sink precious free time into The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. You turn on your Wii, only to discover a disc-free drive. Figuring out the most likely culprit, you head to your roommate's door, asking if he napped your copy in the dark of night. His response? "What the heck is 'The Legend of Zelda?'" Something is wrong...

Zelda Williams was Teased in School for her Name
Posted On 26 Nov 2011 By admin
School bullying is a problem in highschools all across the country and all across the world really. Often times this happens because of somebody’s pure appearance, sexual orientation, religion or if there is something about them that is different. For Zelda Williams, it was her name, Zelda. Being named after the Princess of Hyrule was [...]

Brand New Walkthrough Navigation
Posted On 26 Nov 2011 By admin
Woohoo, it is finally done! What's a mere five day delay to a code block that will last an eternity!? Well, there's little use in pretending my laziness and lack of time were warranted (They totally were!), so let's just jump into the thick of it - our walkthrough now has a brand new, amazing navigation. You can check it out yourself by opening up any of the chapters in the Skyward Sword Walkthrough Index. Unfortunately for coders, people use different resolutions on their screens, which means this kind of floating navigation will look different to some people, and might even end up overlapping a bit of the walkthrough text. In order to rectify that issue, you'll find a convenient arrow for expanding and collapsing the menu. In hindsight, collapsed should have probably been the default state. I'll be working on ironing out these minor quirks over the next while, so let me know in the comments if you find anything else that's iffy....

Incredible Skyward Sword Artwork

Obviously inspired by the epic 25th Anniversary piece, this artwork shows pretty much all major characters from Skyward Sword in what is quite possibly the most epic mashup from that game to date. Now that more people are playing we will no doubt get to see numerous additions to the fan art repertoire of this game. And in case it isn't obvious enough, the full picture has character spoilers. Hop inside to have a look....

Skyward Sword Walkthrough Update: Chapters 1-4

Work on our Skyward Sword Walkthrough has been progressing quite nicely. Over the last few days I’ve gone back and updated the first four chapters of the guide. This is now my third time through the guide and I’m adding additional screenshots, moving things around a bit, and updating some text. Most importantly though, I’m [...]
