Posted On 04 Dec 2011 By admin
Youtube user AVGanondorf has recently posted a video showing off his musical skills by playing Fi’s Theme from Skyward Sword with the ocarina in Majora’s Mask. Closely paying attention to the tune from Skyward sword he was capable of perfectly recreating it using the button combination on the N64 controller. The tune is very well [...]

Now Hiring News Posters for Project Frankenstein and Naturally, Zelda Informer Itself
Posted On 04 Dec 2011 By admin
We've all been through this wringer a few times as one of these posts appears every other month or so. We really do have some amazing staff members, but now that we are starting to ramp up our work on the site overhaul and moving to a new system for the new year, it's time again to get some folks on board now so the learning curve is lessened next year. Oh, and we have this Project Frankenstein we are working on that we also need to start gathering staff for. Hey, it is what it is! For Project Frankenstein we are looking for multifaceted, multiple console, gamers with a passion to deliver news and editorial work for Nintendo's competing consoles. For ZI, it's what it always is. Passion for Nintendo required, blah blah. Why waste your time further? To apply submit an email to nathan@zeldainformer.com and list 3 reasons why we should hire you to post news for us. Note these are all volunteer positions, and do generally require daily work....

Fi’s Theme As Played In Majora’s Mask
Posted On 04 Dec 2011 By admin
I'm always pretty impressed when I see these things. I don't think Nintendo ever expected people to use the ocarina mechanic in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask to play actual music. Then again, they did program the game so you could change the pitch of notes even though it has no bearing on the rest of the game. Curiouser and curiouser. Anyways, a fan in the business of recreating video game tunes using the in-game ocarina, has uploaded a cover of "Fi's Theme" from Skyward Sword. ...

Link, He Comes to… the Playground
Posted On 04 Dec 2011 By admin
If you call yourself a Zelda fan then you have no doubt heard (and learned all the words to) the infamous song "Link, He Comes To Town." To continue this year's theme of awesome parents making their toddlers do nerdy Zelda things, some parents have dressed their kids up as Zelda characters and edited together a music video to the song. I'm not a kid a person, but I find this video hilarious and entertaining on a number of levels, so I have decided to live blog all my reactions to it because I do what I want (any Loki fans out there?)....

There has been so much talk about how many hours of gameplay there is in Skyward Sword. It’s Happened: The 3DS Has Outsold The DS’ First Year, Believe It!
Posted On 04 Dec 2011 By admin
If you wanna get technical with me, which I know you do, the 3DS has sold more in its eight-month existence that than the DS had managed to sell in its first year. Rest assured, after the not-so-hot launch, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimes is grinning cheek to cheek. We're all happy for you, bro. It was in an interview with Time magazine when the big guy - renowned for kicking ass and taking names - revealed that it was on the 26th of November when the 3DS had beaten out the DS' first year sales - that's 2.37 million units. Keep in mind that the DS' first year was leagues behind its other years... if you had bought the phat handheld on launch, you'd remember that, aside from Super Mario 64 DS, the machine had lacked any decent content until Animal Crossing and Mario Kart were released a year later. But hey, it's still a milestone!...
