Zelda Marathon month marches on, and this one comes courtesy of the folks from Zeldathon. The team is playing through pretty much the entire Legend of Zelda series over the course of 7 days, doing so to raise money for the Child’s Play Charity. In the past the team has raised over $20,000 for various charities in their previous 5 marathons combined. This particular marathon team is a bit closer to the heart for me personally, as last July I got the chance to drive out to Pennsylvania for the teams previous Zelda Marathon and it was an amazing time. You can see the stream after the jump, but be sure to head on over to Zeldathon site to take part in the IRC chat as well. You can also see the teams full press release after the jump.
The Child’s Play Charity (http://www.childsplaycharity.org/) is a well known non-profit organization that distributes toys, games and fun to sick children in hospitals worldwide. During the marathon, all money will go directly to the Child’s Play PayPal account, with not a cent being touched by The Zeldathon Team.
The Zeldathon Team in the past has raised collectively over $20,000 for charities, including the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association and the Red Cross. During this marathon, the Team has yet to set a goal but hopes they can break expectations again and hopes to set a new donation record.
During the marathon, for the second time, Martin Silver, a Swedish member of the team, will be flying over from Australia to attend the marathon. He has commited to playing a 3-Heart Run of Minish Cap, among other games.
