Curiosity Shop #079: Zelda Dungeon Mailbag
Posted On 18 Jan 2012 By admin
Again this mailbag, we have a number of non-Skyward Sword questions and a few only partially related to the game, so it seems like things are starting to return to normal a bit. What’s probably a relief to those who haven’t played the game yet is very few of the questions involve spoilers for the [...]

A Most Epically Presented NES Case Mod
Posted On 18 Jan 2012 By admin
In this line of work your attention is often directed towards fan-crafted modifications of hardware. I've seen my fair share of modded Nintendo hardware; some modifications were geared toward a Metroid theme, others toward a Zelda theme, and others towards countless more artistic directions. Overall, the majority of them are pretty cool. However, I think none of them have had such good presentation as this most recent NES case modification. ...

Resident Evil Demo Available Tomorrow On Nintendo eShop
Posted On 18 Jan 2012 By admin
Many have been pestering my weekly download posts with questions about when the demos will be coming to the Nintendo eShop. So far I could only shrug, and answer "I have no idea". Now I am happy to say that we will be getting a one tomorrow along with the handful of new downloadable games. Nintendo UK, as well as Nintendo of America, has announced via a press release that a new demo will be released on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. The first demo to be made available is Resident Evil: Revelations, with Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic games coming next week. The UK will be getting a demo for Cooking Mama 4 on Thursday as well. Curious to see what other demos will be coming? Clickity click on the jump to see! ...

New Beyond the Labyrinth Footage Gives First Look at Included Retro Aspect RPG
Posted On 18 Jan 2012 By admin
A ton more footage from Konami and Tri-Ace's Beyond the Labyrinth for the Nintendo 3DS has hit the web. Yesterday's run of footage lasted a mere twenty minutes, while today's consumes an hour. In all honesty, the footage isn't that exciting of a watch. Part of that has to do with the lack of familiarity with the game and the inability to understand Japanese. The other half has to deal with the fact that these heavy gameplay sequences are clearly more fun to play than to watch. However, among the new footage is our first look at the included retro aspect of Labyrinth. Yes, the game features a retro-style first-person dungeon crawler RPG. ...

Outside Gaming: Big Name Sites Black Out in Protest of SOPA and PIPA
Posted On 18 Jan 2012 By admin
The other day we reported that SOPA has been effectively killed... at least for now. It is highly unlikely to pass in the upcoming bill voting, but that doesn't mean it can't come back up for vote later this year. It also doesn't stop, in any fashion, the other bill which is equally as damaging in PIPA, which is essentially the same as SOPA but put together by the Senate instead of the House. A lot of big name sites today have shut down in protest, and Zelda Informer was almost one of them. Reddit, Wikipedia, Destructoid, and even Google and Mozilla have jumped in on the efforts. This would be the internet's greatest protest ever ran, as it should be. The US Government is trying to directly censor the internet and kill creatively on a user based level, a level of which can shut down the internet's most popular websites in the US - including a site such as our own. We are not blacking out today, though that doesn't mean we don't equally support the cause. You can support the strike fully by going here. The point here is that in 10 days time there is a serious...

Dorkly Bits: Fi Annoys Link
Posted On 18 Jan 2012 By admin
A new Dorkly Bits original has been posted, featuring our favorite sword-entity, Fi. Link gets a little frustrated with her constant habit of pointing out the obvious and beeping obnoxiously. The video is hilarious and I can’t say I don’t share some of Links issues with Fi. I mean, I think I might even prefer [...]
