And in Other Operation Rainfall News…
Posted On 24 Jan 2012 By admin
Bah! Sometimes someone will pounce all over a story that makes your story look foolish when it gets published right after. WHATEVER, BREANA, WE'RE NOT FRIENDS ANYMORE. (Just kidding!) Anyways, you MIGHT have just read that The Last Story is getting an Australian release date, and with this news comes the related news that the folks behind the original Xenoblade Chronicles push are now reorganizing their efforts on bringing Hironobu Sakaguchi's latest masterpiece to North America. Considering how much Final Fantasy has lost its way, and how utterly charming and amazing games like Final Fantasy IV and V were, it would be a rare treat to see this gaming icon making his triumphant return, in conjunction with Nintendo and on a Nintendo platform, no less. You can get all the OpRainfall deets by following their twitter. Jump inside for full details on their strategy. ...

Dorkly Bits: Mario is Too Mainstream
Posted On 24 Jan 2012 By admin
Dorkly has once again made me simply laugh out loud. We all know how quite a few games go these days; jump on baddies, rescue the princess. What exactly separates these games? For those that don't know Braid is, it combines the jumping, time warp, and puzzle solving that many games use. I really liked the art style of the game personally, and it was a game I played a bit at a time and was thoroughly entertained. This video really points out that many bits and pieces in just about every game can be pointed towards a previous one. All for giggles. Yay giggles. It's cute and clever. Enjoy!...

The Great GameCube Adventure
Posted On 24 Jan 2012 By admin
I feel unbridled nostalgia for the GameCube. Sure, it didn't perhaps provide the formative experiences that the NES and SNES did for me; it didn't innovate in quite the same ways that the N64 did. And it never reached the wide-spread appeal of the Wii. It was, and continues to be in some respects, treated as the pariah of Nintendo's home consoles (well, besides the Virtual Boy, but that little red migraine machine is about as verboten in Nintendo circles as The Wand of Gamelon). But you know what? Screw the naysayers. The GameCube might have had a weird little niche of games on it, but few home consoles have had the level of quality, local multiplayer friendliness and straight-up quirkiness of the GameCube, and all of those weird little detours, those Baiten Kaitos-es and those Cubivores and those Four Swords Adventures really make the GameCube stand out. But it's not only that. The GameCube saw some of the greatest and most innovative installments in Nintendo history. Some of the third-party support that was seemingly lacking on the system still brought best-in-their-class games to the GameCube, things like 007: Everything or Nothing or SoulCalibur II, or the definitive (in...

Rumor: Soul Calibur V 3DS Game Coming Soon
Posted On 24 Jan 2012 By admin
The 3DS has a good amount of fighting games, and it will be (maybe) adding another to the set, in the form of Soul Calibur V. The game, which releases on the XBOX 360 in a few days, continues the quest of good and evil with the son of Sophitia Alexandra as the new main protagonist. A retail insider has claimed that a preorder till has appeared at a major high street chain. Don't put a ton of faith because it hasn't been fully confirmed, hence the rumor part. I'll pass this title up because from what I last heard, they're not including Kilik in the game. He was by far my favorite character. The series also seems to get progressively worse as new releases come out, which to me screams that the imagination well has run dry, since Soul Calibur III came out. Nintendo Life...
