An Animation News Network Makes Fun of Nintendo, Asks if They Can Recover With the Wii U
Posted On 29 Jan 2012 By admin
I wont lie and say I didn't find parts of this funny... because I did chuckle here and there. I also sincerely hope NMA TV is simply pulling a fast one on it's followers, because they are highly misconstruing the actual situation with Nintendo. Sure, they just completed their first year of fiscal loss since becoming a video game company, but the point is that Nintendo is just fine. They presumably have a lot of money banked up from the DS and Wii success, and the fact the video even points to Nintendo not supporting the android/apple market and that the Wii is part of the problem is downright laughable at best. Nintendo is fine folks. Can they recover? Most claim they already have. The Wii has likely reached it's ceiling at this point in it's life, but the 3DS is taking off like wildfire now that it has a worthy price point and a handful of really great games. Should only get better as a solid lineup of games are still on the horizon. The Wii U is more of a "chance to redeem" Nintendo themselves to gamers on other platforms more so than "saving the company". Nintendo...

Joe Madureira Wants To Work On A Zelda Comic
Posted On 29 Jan 2012 By admin
Joe Madureira, the creative director for the Darksiders games, has recently showed interest in working on a Legend of Zelda comic. With Madureira’s past experience as a comic book writer and his expressed enthusiasm for the Zelda series, it seems as it be a great idea for Nintendo to give him the opportunity to start [...]

Metal Gear: Snake Eater 3D Screenshot Compared to PS2 Release and HD Rerelease
Posted On 29 Jan 2012 By admin
I played a bit of the original Snake Eater game back in the day, so forgive me if I was thrilled when I heard this game was coming to us ages ago. I never completed the original, but it appears as if, graphically, the 3DS is getting the best version of the game ever created. Yes, it's brighter, but it has significantly more polygons as it is getting harder and harder at times to really tell the difference between some of the 3DS's best looking games and what we get on consoles. Mostly of course, this is aided by a smaller screen that naturally hides the jaggies that do exist still. The comparison here is remarkable. I know that I'm not supposed to be a graphics whore, but is it wrong of me to appreciate what the 3DS is capable of? Yeah, I didn't think so. Thank the users at NeoGAF for putting this together....

Europe to Receive Gimped Version of One Piece Unlimited Cruise SP
Posted On 29 Jan 2012 By admin
While the game has finally been set for a February 10th release date in Europe, the version of One Piece: Unlimited Cruise SP that will be hitting the shelves in the next few weeks will be a downgraded version of the Japanese edition of the game. As a reminder, Unlimited Cruise SP is a port of the two Unlimited Cruise episodes that were released separately on the Wii (neither of which were released in North America). However, while the Japanese version of SP contained both episodes, the European version will only feature one episode....

Michael Pachter: Nintendo Wont be Entering the Tablet Market
Posted On 29 Jan 2012 By admin
Get More: GameTrailers.com, Pach-Attack! - The Tablets Have It, PC Games, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 I know when it comes to Mr. Pachter it's a two sided coin. A lot of people hate him because he is wrong a lot and openly admits to it, yet gets paid to be an analyst. Others like his perspective on the industry, and point out that it's not about if he is right or not and it's more important to look at the topics he helps bring to the forefront of gamer's minds. Setting all that aside, I do think he nails this on the head. Sure, it's a tad insulting the way he words it... but it's nonetheless true. Nintendo is not going to be entering the Tablet market. Period. You can take that one to the bank. I don't think it's that Nintendo doesn't necessarily have the ability to create a compelling and competitive tablet, but rather the fact they have absolutely no interest in doing so. It would inadvertently create competition within itself with the 3DS and yes, even the Wii U. As Apple has shown that's not necessarily a bad thing, but it would also mean that Nintendo...

Resident Evil Fans: Spoil Yourself With The First 25 Minutes Of Revelations
Posted On 29 Jan 2012 By admin
As you all know, Resident Evil: Revelations has been released in Japan and Europe, and the game will be arriving in Australia and the Americas within the next two weeks. Thankfully, the survival-horror title is not just a lacklustre 3DS reincarnation of a console game, but rather, it's an entirely original cinematic experience built from the ground up for Nintendo's handheld. As well, the game has already made an impression on the games industry, now averaging 85% on Metacritic, among 25 reviewers. Not too shabby! I know I'll definitely be picking up this beauty come the release date, but for those of you who are still a little bit unsure, you'd do well to risk a few spoilers and watch the introduction to the game, via the video embedded above. Cheers....
