Michael Pachter: Nintendo Wont be Entering the Tablet Market
Posted On 29 Jan 2012 By admin
Get More: GameTrailers.com, Pach-Attack! - The Tablets Have It, PC Games, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 I know when it comes to Mr. Pachter it's a two sided coin. A lot of people hate him because he is wrong a lot and openly admits to it, yet gets paid to be an analyst. Others like his perspective on the industry, and point out that it's not about if he is right or not and it's more important to look at the topics he helps bring to the forefront of gamer's minds. Setting all that aside, I do think he nails this on the head. Sure, it's a tad insulting the way he words it... but it's nonetheless true. Nintendo is not going to be entering the Tablet market. Period. You can take that one to the bank. I don't think it's that Nintendo doesn't necessarily have the ability to create a compelling and competitive tablet, but rather the fact they have absolutely no interest in doing so. It would inadvertently create competition within itself with the 3DS and yes, even the Wii U. As Apple has shown that's not necessarily a bad thing, but it would also mean that Nintendo...

Resident Evil Fans: Spoil Yourself With The First 25 Minutes Of Revelations
Posted On 29 Jan 2012 By admin
As you all know, Resident Evil: Revelations has been released in Japan and Europe, and the game will be arriving in Australia and the Americas within the next two weeks. Thankfully, the survival-horror title is not just a lacklustre 3DS reincarnation of a console game, but rather, it's an entirely original cinematic experience built from the ground up for Nintendo's handheld. As well, the game has already made an impression on the games industry, now averaging 85% on Metacritic, among 25 reviewers. Not too shabby! I know I'll definitely be picking up this beauty come the release date, but for those of you who are still a little bit unsure, you'd do well to risk a few spoilers and watch the introduction to the game, via the video embedded above. Cheers....

Zelda Informer Mailbag #6 – Getting into the Groove of Things
Posted On 29 Jan 2012 By admin
Besides the initial lack of interesting questions this week, a quick appeal to our Facebook audience has landed this as my favorite installment yet. There's some Zelda of course - but not too much Skyward Sword, some Nintendo and best of all, some completely random questions. As always, be sure to send your questions to dathenboccabella@gmail.com or @dathboc - don't hold off or be shy, send us anything that's on your mind. Now, let's get into this....

Nintendo Considers Retail Downloads on 3DS and Wii U
Posted On 29 Jan 2012 By admin
Nintendo is considering putting up digital downloads of retail games. That would be really handy, but at the same time it might be a failure. Nintendo has the full infrastructure to do that, but they do not know when they would want to deploy it. Recently, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata has revealed that the Wii U would be able to hold 25 GB disks, an impressive figure for sure, but is unsure if it will bypass retail. In an interview, Iwata said: "For the digital sales of the content, we are also considering the future possibility of digital distribution of packaged software, which is often referred to as "software download sales." This concept was built into the design of the Nintendo 3DS, and we already have the necessary infrastructure. We will prepare the same infrastructure for the Wii U. However, we have not decided the concrete timing of when we will start it. The decision must be made by taking into consideration such factors as the relationship with the wholesalers and retailers, and the best way to be embraced by consumers, as well as the environment surrounding the market and consumers, such as the required memory capacity on consumers'...

Resident Evil: Revelations Receives Price Drop; Pre-order Sales Surge
Posted On 29 Jan 2012 By admin
For those who don't remember, Resident Evil: Revelations for the Nintendo 3DS was originally priced at $49.99. The reasoning behind this had to do with the fact that the game is being made available on a 4GB card instead of the standard 2GB 3DS card. Based on the excellent reviews the game has received and the near-console experience that the developer's are making it out to be, the fifty-dollar price tag isn't that horrible. However, I'm not going to deny that I'm not happy about Capcom since reducing the price to $39.99....

Grooseward Gourd
Posted On 29 Jan 2012 By admin
Today isn't so much of a slow day as it has simply been a busy one. For those unaware, I don't actually have net access at my new place yet (may be another month before that happens) so my time online is a tad limited. That being said, I didn't forget about you folks today. The above video is really only funny to a select crowd, but who cares. It's GROOSE! That being said I apologize for the lack of updates today. The staff have been very busy working on getting the new site set up (the all new ZI), and it's eating a lot into our time to keep this place running. No worries though, we should be back to full force tomorrow....

Miyamoto Talks About Zelda and the Wii U
Posted On 29 Jan 2012 By admin
In light of Nintendo’s recent meeting with Shigeru Miyamoto, there were a few details of what can be expected of a Zelda title on the Wii U – Mostly that it won’t just be about advanced graphics, though that will most likely play a larger role in some of the consoles titles, such as The Legend [...]

Missed Opportunities: Scervo Rematch and Ghirahim’s Snowy Mansion
Posted On 28 Jan 2012 By admin
This is a bit of an odder video. It’s not a serious discussion topic, but something I kinda wanted to get off my chest. I think that Skyward Sword had a number of missed opportunities. There were a lot of things it seems like Nintendo missed out on doing that would have fit the game [...]

Hand Made Wooden Master Sword
Posted On 28 Jan 2012 By admin
While I’ve seen some great gifts exchanged between family members, I think this one made by R1CKW’s grandfather over on Reddit tops them all, or at least comes pretty darn close. As the swords make is just incredible overall, and the fact that the Grandfather went to so much trouble to make this really shows [...]
