GAME isn’t Stocking Mario Party 9, Mass Effect 3
Posted On 01 Mar 2012 By admin
For quite some time, GAME (and its offshoot, GameStation) was one of the premier "high street" video game specialist retailers in Britain, but if you've been paying any attention to the company's fortunes as of late, you know that it seems like that's about to come to an end. First came the news that GAME wouldn't be carrying The Last Story - a bit of a blow, considering the game's pedigree, but at least marginally understandable. JRPGs aren't the all-conquering behemoths they once were, even if they're as hyped up as Sakaguchi's latest jam has been. It seems the cuts go a little deeper than that. The big Nintendo release of the season, Mario Party 9, which is a guaranteed hit across the casual/hardcore spectrum, will also not be carried by GAME. But the real story is that GAME won't be carrying any EA or Ubisoft games, and that they've stopped taking pre-orders for the impending blockbuster release of Mass Effect 3. Unnamed Source Prices Wii U At $299.99
Posted On 01 Mar 2012 By admin
An unnamed source at Wii U Daily has told the publication that the upcoming Wii U will retail at $299.99. Nintendo will apparently price the Wii U at $299 in the US, 299 Euro's in Europe, and 20,000 Yen in Japan. It is the same source that brought them their Wii U system specs rumor. They don't have any confirmation on this rumor of course, and report that there is no word on Wii U software pricing. The console is supposed to come out sometime after this year's E3, so there is still time for an official announcement on the pricing of Nintendo's HD console. The Wii U is to be priced in-line with both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. Microsoft and Sony are speculated to release their next consoles next year, so this pricing is something Nintendo will have to really prepare for....
