When Super Mario Galaxy 2 was announced, I was excited beyond belief. The first Galaxy game was one of the most incredible and inventive video games I have ever played, so when I found out I was getting a second helping, I was completely overjoyed. I remember talking to my friend about it after it had been announced, speculating whether or not it would be able to out-do the Hub World from the original Galaxy; The Comet Observatory, or if it was a possibility for it to match the incredibly fun Delfino Plaza from Super Mario Sunshine.

There was no mention of a Hub World in the early trailers, and when it was finally shown to be a small ship in the shape of Mario’s head…. Well, needless to say, I was slightly disappointed. Don’t get me wrong; Super Mario Galaxy 2 is one of my favorite games of all time, and the Hub World doesn’t take too much away from what is an already fantastic game. For me, though, it’s just icing on the cake. Hop inside for more.
