More Retailers Price Wii U at $600
Posted On 13 Dec 2011 By admin
Remember last week when a French retailer listed the Wii U at €450 ($600)? Now EB Australia is listing Nintendo's next-generation console at approximately $600, and, apparently, a few additional retailers have done so as well. There is NO WAY the Wii U is going to cost $600. More inside....

Monster Hunter Tri G Sold Nearly Half A Million Copies
Posted On 13 Dec 2011 By admin
That's right, but I should narrow it down and say that Monster Hunter Tri G sold nearly half a million copies IN THE FIRST TWO DAYS. Enterbrain has revealed this information, and sales are still going crazy in Japan. The Nintendo 3DS had its best week yet there, with 378,114 units sold. This is in Japan, where the Nintendo 3DS has finally crossed its three million mark in sales. I already posted about the game being sold out in some retail stores. This is fantastic news for Capcom and Nintendo. Major games like these will definitely help make the slow starting handheld thrive. Sadly, when I think of the wireless gameplay I get a little nervous. Monster Hunter Tri G only has local multiplayer. It's different in the West than it is in Japan, where it isn't hard to find another player to trade items with and chat about the game. The game does well on its own without the multiplayer, but it is a small let down. Nonetheless, I'd love to see this game localized....

Kid Icarus: Uprising Gets A Trailer and North American Release Date
Posted On 13 Dec 2011 By admin
Mirror HereYes! This game finally has a release date, and they're even teasing us with this new trailer. In a recent press release detailing quite a few releases coming up within the next few month, Kid Icarus: Uprising was given a release date. When will it be coming out? The 23rd of March. That's what? A little over three months? Why can't we speed up time? The trailer has a little something new, or at least I hadn't seen it this footage until a few moments ago. I don't wanna spoil it for the people that are reading what I say but not watching the video, so you will have to clickity click the jump to see my excitement. I do find some of the quotes the characters say in the game a little cheesy. "Let me at em!"...

Circle Pad Pro Release Date Announced; Gamestop Exclusive
Posted On 13 Dec 2011 By admin
Best hope your 3DS is ready for a side-hug (or "shug" as we call it around these parts): Nintendo announced that the Circle Pad Pro will be released on February 7, just in time for Resident Evil: Revelations and, presumably, a whole schwack of 3DS games going forward. Interestingly, Nintendo seems to be pulling a slight Xenoblade here and releasing the Circle Pad Pro as a Gamestop (or EB Games, as the case might be) exclusive, for the time being, at least. I can't say I understand that logic, unless Nintendo is trying to keep the Circle Pad Pro as a strictly "for the hardcore" sort of thing and limiting confusion from people who make an impulse purchase at Walmart or whatever. But on the other hand, if the second stick becomes an intrinsic feature of, say, a future hardware revision, this add-on will be in hot demand for early adopters. Well, what do you think, dear readers? Foolishness? Or are Nintendo secret savants? ...

Skyward Sword Piano Cover ‘Ballad of the Goddess’
Posted On 13 Dec 2011 By admin
Youtube user MarkovicDeluxe has uploaded his rendition of the ‘Ballad of the Goddess’ on piano. He also includes the title theme from The Wind Waker into his cover. This is one of my favorite pieces from Skyward Sword and I thought it was awesome how it was Zelda’s Lullaby backwards. In this piano cover he [...]

RUMOR – GameStop Approached Nintendo About Localizing Xenoblade
Posted On 13 Dec 2011 By admin
Well THIS is interesting! Looks like GameStop is moving up in the world. Apparently, they were the ones who approached Nintendo about getting Xenoblade Chronicles a localization. Nintendo reciprocated that interest, and said that the success of the localization will depend on the sales/preorders of the game. According to an anonymous source: - GameStop reached out to Nintendo to get Xenoblade Chronicles released in the states - GameStop is helping to pay for publishing - Nintendo is interested in localizing The Last Story as well - This localization depends on sales of Xenoblade Chronicles preorders/sales - Xenoblade Chronicles preorders are not doing well thus far I am a tad surprised by the news, as I recall there being a huge uproar over Nintendo announcing that there was no localizations planned. Could it be because of the Gamestop exclusive? And Gamestop is paying for publishing with Nintendo? I didn't know that they were that kind!...
