Brock’s Ready to Beat Some Redcoats
Posted On 05 Mar 2012 By admin
Well, what do you know. I'm all ready to settle in and do some math homework (because nothing says fun quite like that), when a veritable swamp of new information is released pertaining to the already hyped-beyond-belief Assassin's Creed III. Among these bits of information is the identity of the voice actor for new lead character Connor Rahtonhaketon. Judging from the title, I'm sure you see where I'm going with this....

Hey Guys, It’s Your Captain!
Posted On 02 Mar 2012 By admin
It's your server guy that never posts. Just have a couple updates I'd like to share!First off, a lot of you wonder who I am or what I've been up to. I don't have a lot of time to put towards video gaming these days, but lately I've taken up the handle of Music Journalist over at my personal blog, DennisWyman.com. In fact, just recently, I sent up a new recurring feature over there, "This Week In Playlists," where I talk about recent discoveries and addictions. Included in this week's roundup, is the music video for We Come Together by Goldfish, stylized as an 8-bit video game and full of references to several major Nintendo series.Secondly, we just underwent a MASSIVE server overhaul the past few days. For everybody that has been wondering what's been going on with the intermittent downtime, that was me. Things should be sorted out in that department for now though.See you around, kiddos!...

GAME isn’t Stocking Mario Party 9, Mass Effect 3
Posted On 01 Mar 2012 By admin
For quite some time, GAME (and its offshoot, GameStation) was one of the premier "high street" video game specialist retailers in Britain, but if you've been paying any attention to the company's fortunes as of late, you know that it seems like that's about to come to an end. First came the news that GAME wouldn't be carrying The Last Story - a bit of a blow, considering the game's pedigree, but at least marginally understandable. JRPGs aren't the all-conquering behemoths they once were, even if they're as hyped up as Sakaguchi's latest jam has been. It seems the cuts go a little deeper than that. The big Nintendo release of the season, Mario Party 9, which is a guaranteed hit across the casual/hardcore spectrum, will also not be carried by GAME. But the real story is that GAME won't be carrying any EA or Ubisoft games, and that they've stopped taking pre-orders for the impending blockbuster release of Mass Effect 3. Jump inside for more doom and gloom....

It's the beginning of a new month! That means new games coming out, and new downloadable content to purchase. Nintendo is already starting up its March month with the availability of Metroid to the Nintendo eShop Virtual Console. I'm sure many who were not a part of the Ambassador program will be quick to snatch up this classic. Samus is the greatest bounty hunter in space, after all. There are two new demos coming out this week as well. One is for WiiWare and the other is a 3DS Demo. The full list is after the jump, so clickity click!...

Posted On 29 Feb 2012 By admin
Warning On Foul Language I hate that sun. Seriously, that guy gave me a panic attack as a child. I would just run and run and run and run and never stop. Dorkly has taken it upon themselves to help us understand just why that sun wants to kill Mario... In just about every brutal way possible....

Legend of Zelda: Link’s Kitty Adventure
Posted On 25 Feb 2012 By admin
You can find many things on the internet. The longer I browse the internet, the more I realize: people like cute cats. Seriously, there are thousands of photos of cute kittens and videos of cats doing silly things. I'm a cat and a dog person, so I am quite happy to indulge myself on the cuteness. Nintendo Gamer recently found 29 entertaining pictures of canines masquerading as Nintendo characters. Now it seems like the kitties are taking their turn, and it's adorable. I can't imagine the patience these cats must have though, because they are much less likely to allow their human companions dress them up than dogs are. Still, this is cute. If you are wondering why I am just sharing the kitties and not the doggies, it's because I have a kitty named Link. That is him to the left in the awesome collar my best friend got me for Christmas. The cats are after the jump, and yes, THERE ARE MANY LINK CATS. Do you have any pictures of your pets in Nintendo garb?...

One Lucky Mario Kart Fan Has Won His Very Own Kart
Posted On 24 Feb 2012 By admin
GameStop PowerUp Rewards often has contests and events that allow a few fans to win major opportunities and big items from their favorite games. One of the past drawings was for a life-sized Mario Kart, and one lucky man has won it. Nate Stehley of Tennessee has won the kart, which has a decorative glider wing as represented in the latest Mario Kart installment for the Nintendo 3DS. The Mario Karts were shown off during the West Coast Customs Show in LA late last year. He won the Mario kart that was displayed in front of a store in Westfield Topanaga mall in California. We're not sure what is going to happen to the Luigi kart, but maybe some other lucky fan will be able to take it home? Are you jealous? I would have loved to have won it, though I have no idea where I would put it....

Club Nintendo Has Mario and Luigi 3DS Pouches
Posted On 24 Feb 2012 By admin
Japan just gets all the awesome Club Nintendo merchandise. First the gold Wii nunchuck for The Legend of Zelda, and now they get these awesome Mario and Luigi hat pouches for their handhelds. The pouches carry just about every DS from its family, excluding the giant DSi LL. They are only about 250 coins each, and look really cute and squishy to me. I'm not sure how much room there is for carrying games wih it, but if you want to accessorize with your handhelds Nintendo style, this might be right up your alley. Well, at least if you're in Japan. These aren't quite available in other Club Nintendo regions as far as I can see. To see the full images clickity click on the jump!...

Japanese Newspaper Blames Mario For Nintendo Financial Losses
Posted On 17 Feb 2012 By admin
Can you believe it? Yes, someone is blaming Mario of all people for Nintendo's financial loss. Japanese newspaper Sankei news is the one blaming "the curse of Mario" for Nintendo posting huge financial losses. It states that Mario, Nintendo's main mascot, has hindered the company from creating original IP's and catering to today's conumers tastes. I will agree that I would like to see new IPs coming from Nintendo, but I do not agree that the financial loss should be blamed on Mario. Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land had some of the highest numbers of sales, and is the reason Nintendo was the top publisher last month. I posted about it yesterday, and when I last checked, Mario was in both of those titles. The slow 3DS sales and the price cut for the handheld would seem like a better target for blame, but the handheld has since made an enormous come back. We've heard of a new IP coming from Nintendo, and the Nintendo 3DS is getting quite a few titles that don't heavily rely on the Italian plumber. To see the statements, clickity click on the jump!...
